About

The Laborers Local 261 Community Service Training Foundation worked in partnership with Salesforce.com and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, to build the Justin Herman Plaza bocce courts.

Many thanks to Mayor Gavin Newsom, Board of Supervisors President David Chiu, Chairman of the Board of the Laborers Community Service Training Foundation Ramon Hernandez, The San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission, San Francisco City officials, Marc Benioff, Friends of the Port of San Francisco and community members who worked together to activate this space and provide work force training to San Franciscans.

Special thanks to Chris Gruwell, Webcor Builders, Boston Properties, Benji Tosci, and The Laborers Local Union 261 for their community leadership, and to AECOM and Peter Zepponi for their pro-bono design work.

League play is a project of the Friends of the Port of San Francisco, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 1982.
